“Save interesting web pages for later reading”
by Elena Santos
I spend many hours a day browsing the web, which means I often find many interesting articles I'd like to read. Unfortunately I don't always have time to do so, and I don't like cluttering up my bookmarks with web addresses that I only need to look at once.
The perfect solution for this situation is Read it later, a Firefox extension that enables you to mark certain web pages and add them to a "reading list". In this way you can keep track of all those interesting articles while maintaining a clear bookmark structure.
The extension adds two new commands to the context menu, with which you can add either pages or links to your reading list. It also displays two new buttons to the toolbar, one to review your reading list and the other one to either add a webpage to that list or mark it as read.
The fact that you can do different actions with the same button makes it a bit confusing (it would have been better to simply have two buttons) but in all I found this extension to be really useful for hardcore web readers.
Make sure you don't miss any interesting article on the web with this Firefox extension.

This Firefox extension allows you to save pages of interest to read later. It eliminates cluttering of bookmarks with sites that are merely of a one-time interest. The idea came because I found that during the day (and especially at work), I would run into sites and articles that I wanted to read, but couldn’t at that time. Mostly, I would just send the link to myself via email, and in the end, they would never get read because I’d lose it in my inbox. I needed a simple way to keep track of the things I wanted to read, but didn’t want to bookmark (at least not at first).
The Read it later extension makes things much easier: when you come across something you want to read later, simply click the ‘Read Later’ button and the page is instantly inserted into your reading list. Then when you have some free time, just click ‘Reading List’ and it’ll randomly pull up something for you to read. When you are finished, click Mark it As Read and it will be removed from your list.
